The Ptarmigan bivy is evolving.  The top of the Ptarmigan is still made of  Intrepid, a 20 denier DWR  treated
fabric that performs as well or better than anything in its weight class.  The bottom no longer has our Reflect-Tex
fabric (essentially 1.3oz sil-nylon with a heat and light reflective treatment added to the silicone coating).  The
bottom is now black Sil-nylon.  In addition to the fabric, the bath tub floor of the Ptarmigan is also unique in its
construction.  The one piece  articulated bath tub floor has no seems running vertical to the interface with the top
fabric, which means no seem sealing is required in the floor.  The hood portion of the Ptarmigan is also
articulated in the same fashion as the floor for improved movement, room, and comfort.

Full net hood:  The full net hood option gives you full airy
bug protection, and allows you to go with just the net
hood, no hood at all, or a combination of the fabric hood
and net hood. The zippered entry is located  on the bottom
zipper line of the fabric hood zipper, and has a loop to pull
the netting off your face.  Sewn in, so it needs to be
ordered at the same time as bivy.     Adds 1oz    $20
 Net window:  The net window option gives you a large
net window for bug protection. Works in conjunction with
the fabric hood, or tucks out of the way. The window
also  adds volume to the head area.  Sewn in, so it needs
to be ordered at the same time as bivy.

NEW COLORS:  No new pics yet, but the Ptarmigan
Bivy TOP and BOTTOM are now BLACK.   Same
"Intrepid" top material as the previous grey & purple
topped bivy.  Bottom is now Black "Silnylon".
The new "Raven xl Bivy" has
all the same features as the  
Black Ptarmigan, but it's
about 10" longer... For tall
folks and big winter bags.
